Dip in Therapeutic Counselling and Higher Diploma in CBT

Most of us at one point or another feel overwhelmed by life’s circumstances and it may seem that there is no way out, but with the right support and guidance you can regain control of your life.

Talking to a trained professional can help you look at your problems from an entirely different perspective and thus arming you with the necessary tools to deal with your issues or problems.

I will look at you as a whole and not just at your situation or issue.  You are more than that.  We will look together at your whole well-being. These are important attributes for your healing or recovery.

I have been part of a private practice since May 2014 and although I have worked for the last eight years within the substance misuse field, with users and their carers. I have also expanded my experience by working with victims of rape, abuse, self harm, underprivileged young people, general anxiety/stress, motivation and overall well being. Because everyone is unique I like to work holistically with the whole person not just the issue.

I am an experienced counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I am therefore bound to adhere to their ethical framework.

My counselling training was integrative and Transpersonal which means it includes most psychotherapy and counselling approaches and theories, as well as a spiritual and more empathetic way of offering help to those who come to see me.  This is very helpful as it means that I can work with you in a very individual way, using different approaches to suit you best.  Working holistically helps to explore the whole you helping to understand what has caused you to feel the way you do.

Most of all I believe that treating someone with warmth, respect, honesty and acceptance, without judgement or criticism allows the person to explore and work through what are sometimes painful or difficult feelings.
